Externally the replica is constructed from a mixture of stamped steel parts and polymer. The handguard, folding stock and pistol grip are all constructed from heavy duty yet lightweight polymer, with a stamped steel receiver which looks exactly like the real thing. Thanks to the manufacturing process being just like the real thing the replica features the same types of blemishes as the real gun, as well as the same smell thanks to the releasing agents and preservative oils used: This Airsoft Gun has that new AK smell, and it's beautiful!
